IMAGINARY BIRDS – birdsong fills the gallery

In November, Mökki Galleria is taken over by birds and birdsong. Imagínary Birds is a collaborated exhibition with Mökki Galleria All Stars. The birds have been created with different techniques and media – and they have are singing their own song! Imaginary birds by 18 different artists bring summer and sound to the darkness of the late fall.

Imaginary Birds presents birds that you probably never even heard of: Velvet Eye, Grey Dorian and Pink Pulsarius. The exhibition offers something new and wonderful for both eyes and ears.

The exhibition is based on imaginary birdsong that Michl Britsch have created out of human whistles and sounds. The majority of the artwork at display have a distinct connection to a certain song – first there was the song, then a bird! It is the birds and their song that are in the spotlight.

Imaginary Birds displays ceramics, paintings, photographies, installation and so on. All birds will be presented during the opening, and the birdsong will fill the gallery all of November. As a visitor, you can borrow headphones in order to listen to the individual songs belonging to each bird. Welcome to Mökki Galleria to spot your favourite bird!
